New York Actor Headshots | Ted Ely
Headshots NYC
Hi, I’m Ted. I am a New York City headshot and portrait photographer. My chief aim is to capture the energy and unique qualities of actors and professionals in a single headshot. And I love what I do! A steady and thriving career can sometimes feel unattainable and a little daunting. Jobs can come and go.. a day, a couple of months or a few years. There is no real certainty to it.
To combat this I provide certainty in one specific part of your career. Headshots. Your calling card. The headshot process can be stressful, brushed off as not that important, and incredibly expensive, but it is an essential part of booking work consistently as an actor.
Let’s be real, headshots are weird. Looking into a camera and being your best self can feel awkward. That’s why it’s important to have a professional behind the camera that knows exactly what they are doing, so you can relax and be yourself. “Oh, but my friend who I know and love has a nice camera, they can do it!” Your friend with the nice camera may get an okay picture, but they don’t know how to communicate with you to capture a headshot with that special sauce.
Your headshot doesn’t just represent you visually, it represents you professionally, artistically, and energetically. A professional headshot photographer will take great photographs and be focused on capturing your confident personality and individual style.
“But it’s so darn expensive!” Yes, good professional headshot photographers are an investment. But how important is booking the job to you? Is it important enough to skip those nights out and save $30 – $50 a week to your headshot fund? What if a new pair of professional headshots catapults you into your dream job or the chance to work with Meryl Streep?
